As well as selling real estate in the Hills, many people would be unaware of the amount of giving back to the community members of the team do.
James Sexton really sets an example of working for the community in appreciation of the support they give our business.
As Chairman of the Hans Heysen Foundation board James has been one of the driving forces in raising funding to preserve, protect and showcase the incredible legacy, property and artwork for future generations.
Nora Heysen, Hans’s daughter was the first woman to win the Archibald prize.
Securing good support from the Heysen family, all levels of government and private donors has enabled the foundation to finally build a custom gallery to accommodate and showcase the artwork and journals of this incredible historic artistic family. We expect the new gallery to be open mid 2025.
James has recently financially supported the Mount Barker High School grade 7 robotics class to attend the National Robotics Championships in Sydney.
James actively supports women’s and girls’ sport throughout Mount Barker and has been a long term sponsor of the Mount Barker United Netball Club.
James works with the Mount Barker Council horticulturalist for greening and beautifying the CBD of Mount Barker. Some of the projects James has been a catalyst for include the planting of 60,000 daffodils and creating the Endangered Species Tree Arboretum. He instigated the relocation of the historic 110 year old Amos Howard planted palm tree from Blakiston, where it was too close to power lines, to flourish in the new Endangered Species Arboretum behind the Wallis Cinemas.
This dedication to helping our hills community is something James encourages in others by his example. In James Sexton’s words: “We are not just here to sell real estate we are also here to help our community”.
